Original play about Abraham Lincoln heads to PCC

Play written by PCC instructor to be performed this weekend.

The Pitt Community College Drama Club will present “The Last 24 Hours of Lincoln” on campus this weekend in the Craig F. Goess Student Center.

Written and directed by PCC Instructor Mitch Butts, the play will be performed by PCC students and faculty April 12-13. Both performances are open to the public.

 The April 12 performance begins at 7 p.m. while the April 13 showing starts at 2 p.m. Tickets are $5 each.

 PCC bills the show saying: “The Last 24 Hours of Lincoln” is a readers’ theater piece depicting the final 24 hours of President Abraham Lincoln’s life. Multimedia (pictures and sound) will be used in the presentation of this important historical event.
