Goldsboro police looking for shooting suspect

GOLDSBORO, N.C. - Police in Goldsboro are looking for a 17-year-old in relation to a shooting in the parking lot of Beestown Grocery that sent three people to the hospital on Thursday afternoon.

Police say their investigation revealed 17-year-old Malik Ward exited the store and shot one victim in the face before exchanging gunfire with someone else in the parking lot, which resulted in two other people being shot.

The police said they did not locate any victims at the scene, but they subsequently stopped a vehicle driving one of the victims to the hospital. Emergency services then transported this man to Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Two other vicitms were airlifted to Vidant Medical Center to be treated for their injuries.

Goldsboro police say Malik Ward should be considered armed and dangerous. If anyone has any information on his whereabouts, they should call the police at 919-580-4203 or Crimestoppers at 919-735-2255.
