One person is dead after a wreck on Highway 418 in Greenville County. One person is dead after a wreck on Highway 418 in Greenville County.
PELZER, SC - A man is dead after a wreck in Greenville County.

The wreck happened at 10 a.m. Saturday on Highway 418 near Reedy Fork Road. Lance Cpl. David Jones of the South Carolina Highway Patrol said that a 71-year-old man from Pelzer was driving a 1993 sedan east on Highway 418 when he ran off the left side of the road, struck an embankment and then overturned.

Greenville County Deputy Coroner Kent Dill stated that the driver of the car, Derrell Lindley, was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene due to blunt force trauma. Traffic on Highway 418 was closed for a short period of time as emergency responders attended to the wreck.
