ECU Mall Preacher arrested in Wilmington for inciting a riot

Posted: Updated:
A man known by many ECU students as ‘Brother Ross’ has been arrested in Wilmington.

WECT-TV in Wilmington is reporting that Ross M. Jackson was cited Saturday for inciting a riot near the intersection of Front and Market Streets. Jackson is known by East Carolina University students as ‘Brother Ross’. He regularly preaches in ECU’s public expression area, and has become the subject of several viral videos because of his confrontational preaching style.

WECT reported five people were at the intersection with religious signs and yelling at patrons of the Azalea Festival Street Fair. Police tell WECT the group was at the same location Friday, but became irate Saturday and was getting into people's faces. Ross M. Jackson, 31, was cited for inciting a riot as a result of their unruly behavior and use of profane language.

Wilmington Police got involved after several individuals complained about the group.
