Raleigh native, wife land record deal after singing wedding vows

Posted: Updated:
LOS ANGELES -

A Raleigh native and his new bride have become YouTube sensations after the couple decided to sing a song they wrote together as their vows.

Michael, a native of Raleigh, and Carissa Alvarado met on the set of a music video while Michael was on a trip in Los Angeles, according to Yahoo Shine.

Michael eventually moved to L.A. and married Carrisa.

In their YouTube video, which was posted on May 6 from their wedding a year ago, Michael admits the couple had trouble writing their vows. Instead, the couple wrote a song together and performed it for the first time at their wedding.

The song has become popular on YouTube, helping the couple land a record deal. The couple, Us the Duo, signed with Republic Records and will start a 28-city North American Tour. The couple is also releasing an album on iTunes.
