Win Free Lake Passes With Life Jacket Contest

HARTWELL LAKE, S.C. - You could be a winner just by wearing a life jacket this summer. The US Army Corps of Engineers is offering prizes to anyone who submits a picture of themselves on twitter or facebook wearing a life jacket. The contest runs through Labor Day. There will be a winner each Wednesday.

You can post picture on the Savannah District Facebook page or tweet them using the Savannah District Twitter handle @SavannahCorps and the hashtag #WEARIT.

Photos will be judged based on subject matter, focus, creativity and overall emphasis on water safety.

Prizes include free campsite reservations, picnic shelter reservations and daily passes at Corps-managed facilities at Hartwell Lake and J. Strom Thurmond Lake. Additionally, all winners will receive a free Coast Guard-approved Type IV boat throw cushion and a distress whistle.
