RALEIGH, N.C. -

Residents in two Northwest Raleigh apartment complexes are on edge after four cars caught fire early Monday morning.

Two cars were set on fire around 3 a.m. on Beaver Lake Court. About 5 minutes later, two more cars were set on fire about 5 miles away in the Woods at North Bend apartment complex.

In the case of the first fire, investigators say a BMW 700 series car was set ablaze and the car next to caught on fire. A Chevrolet Caprice was set on fire in the second case and an SUV next to it also burned.

"I'm concerned because I heard it happened in more than one location, so it's like someone is actually going around doing stuff like that, so yeah I'm very concerned," said neighbor Jasmine Jones.

Investigators say whoever set the cars on fire left a gas can in the BMW.

Arson investigators are waiting on results from a lab analysis to determine if the fires are connected.
