JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL) -

A Rogersville man was arrested by Johnson City Police Department officers Monday, following an investigation into a reported theft of property at a business.

According to a JCPD news release, employees at Lowes, 180 Marketplace Blvd. in Johnson City, told police they saw a man switch price tags on two items.

The man, Christopher Weston, 26, 472 Hickory Cove Road, reportedly only paid around $50 for an item valued at over $500.

According to the store’s loss prevention, Weston was under investigation in other Lowes locations for the same type of crime.

Weston was reportedly released from the Sullivan County jail and taken to the Washington County Detention Center on new charges of theft of property over $500.

He was being held in the detention center on $1,000 bond.

Weston was scheduled for a preliminary hearing in Sessions Court Tuesday at 1:30 p.m.
