Bond Denied For Suspect In Wofford St. Shooting

Posted: Updated:
SPARTANBURG, S.C - Bond has been denied for a man who was arrested Tuesday after a lengthy manhunt in Spartanburg.

At an early morning bond hearing, a Spartanburg County Magistrate denied bond for Ricky Lee Davis, 45, who was charged with attempted murder and possession of a firearm during a violent crime after a shooting on Wofford Street last week.

Police say they got a call around 9:45 p.m. on May 25 to a home in the 1600 block of Wofford Street.

Police tell us there was a party at that home and a woman with a gunshot wound was taken to a nearby hospital.

The woman told police she got in a verbal fight with Davis, and he told her he was leaving, "to get his gun."

Davis then showed back up at the party a short time later with a revolver, and shot the victim, according to police reports.

The woman was shot in the left side of her head, according to police.

Davis was taken into custody without incident Tuesday afternoon.
