I-440 west in Raleigh back open after downed tree closes lanes

RALEIGH, N.C. -

Raleigh police said a downed tree forced the closure of a section of Interstate 440 west Tuesday night in Raleigh.

The tree fell around 11:30 p.m. near the interchange with Western Boulevard, police said.

Raleigh police diverted traffic onto Hillsborough Street until the tree was removed just before 1:15 p.m.
