WOODFIN, N.C. -

Bargain hunters looking for a sale can find dozens along one highway.

The U.S. 25 Yard Sale got underway Thursday.

The road from Covington, Ky. to Woodfin in northern Buncombe County will be lined with oddities through Saturday, June 7.

Organizers say it is the sixth longest yard sale in the country spanning three states, 30 different towns and 425 miles.

“I think it is great,” says Camela Klein. “I think it is about time it got this far.”

This year, the event stretches down to Woodfin, which is serving as the last stop for buyers and sellers.

Although for many, the town will be a starting point.

“I think anything that is going to bring Woodfin some business, some recognition and some exposure is awesome,” said Sharie Johnson who owns the Sanctuary of Stuff on U.S. 25.

Vendors will be open from dawn until dusk.

The Pink House, a resale shop in Woodfin, will be hosting several individual dealers on-site.

There will be new things for sale each day, according to owner Sherry Campbell.

Campbell recommends shoppers come early and look for items that can be repurposed.
