MLB Draft: Roberson's Davidson, Clemson RHP Gossett Reflect On High Selections

Spartanburg SC - Clemson pitcher Daniel Gossett, the former Byrnes High School star, was taken in the second round by the Oakland A's in Thursday night's MLB Draft.

Gossett was the 65th overall pick after posting a 7-2 record in his junior season.

Gossett was a 16th round pick by the Red Sox coming out of high school.

The Braves selected T.C. Roberson High School (Asheville) slugging first baseman Braxton Davidson 32nd overall late in the first round.

Conway righty Grant Holmes was the first Palmetto State player taken, going 22nd overall to the Dodgers.

Friday's third round included the selection of USC catcher Grayson Greiner by the Detroit Tigers.  Several other area players followed.
