PINEHURST, N.C. -

Tickets for the 2014 U.S. Open at Pinehurst Resort & Country Club in Village of Pinehurst are sold out, according to the United States Golf Association said Wednesday.

This is the 28th consecutive year that tickets for the U.S. Open Championship have sold out.

The tournament begins Thursday and runs through Sunday.

“Past championships at Pinehurst have set the benchmark for ticket sales and attendance,” said Thomas J. O’Toole Jr., President of the United States Golf Association. “This is another testament to the support we have always received from the people of North Carolina as well as the historic nature in 2014 of our back-to-back championships.”

Tickets for juniors are always available on-site at Will Call and all admission gates during the championship. Juniors, ages 12 and younger, will be admitted free of charge any day when accompanied by an adult ticket holder. Tickets for juniors, ages 13 to 17, will be available for purchase at a reduced rate of $15 for practice rounds and $35 for championship rounds. There is a maximum of two junior tickets per one adult ticket holder. Junior tickets permit Trophy Club access only when accompanied by an adult Trophy Club ticket holder.

Tickets for the U.S. Women’s Open, following the conclusion of the U.S. Open Championship, are still available. Weekly packages, 4-packs and Good-Any-One-Day tickets may be purchased at uswomensopen.com until June 16 or at any Will Call location at Pinehurst No. 2 during either championship. Prices start at $30 for Good-Any-One-Day tickets and range up to $175 for weekly Trophy Club packages.
