SCDOT Hosts Public Meeting to Discuss School Street Bridge in Duncan

Posted: Updated:
DUNCAN, S.C. -

The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) will give drivers in Duncan an update on the School Street bridge Thursday night.

A public information will be held to discuss the bride over Norfolk Southern Railroad. It was closed in August 2013 for safety reasons. It's now being considered for replacement or removal from the State System due to the deteriorated condition of its substructure.

Thursday's public meeting will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the lobby of the District 5 Fine Arts Center at 150 East Main Street in Duncan. It will have a drop-in format, with project displays available for viewing. SCDOT representatives will be available to discuss the project and answer questions, though there won't be a formal presentation.

For more information, the public can contact Emily Tolder, SCDOT Assistant Program Manager at (803) 737-1564.
