Police Arrest a Driver Accused in a Hit & Run in Travelers Rest

Police in Travelers Rest say they've made an arrest in connection with a hit and run accident Friday morning.

Captain John Gardner with Travelers Rest Police say they've arrested 62 year old Wayne Ross Saunders.

They say Saunders turned himself in Friday afternoon is charged with Driving Under Suspension and Leaving the Scene of an Accident With Injuries.

Gardner says the accident happened around 11:40 am Friday when the driver of a Black Dodge Dakota hit the rear of a car stopped in traffic at a red light on US 25 North near Little Texas Road.

Gardner says they're still investigating details of the incident and are talking with witnesses.
