Arrests Made In Forest City Mail Drop Box Break-ins

FOREST CITY, N.C. -

Officials have made arrests in the break-ins of the mail drop boxes at the Forest City and Bostic post offices.

Rodney Allen Brown, 28, has been charged with two counts of safecracking.

After Brown's arrest, the investigation continued.  As authorities were conducting a search warrant, they found components of a meth lab, resulting in the arrests of Jerry Calvin Self, 43, and Michelle Lynn Clanton, 42.  They are both charged with possession of precursor chemicals, possession of drug paraphernalia and simple possession of marijuana.

They are being held under a $21,000 bond.

Brown is being held on a $25,000 bond.

Forest City Police, the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office and the State Bureau of Investigation Clandestine Laboratory unit continue to investigate.

It is unknown how many pieces of mail were stolen from the two locations.
