CLEBURNE, TX -

A woman casually smoking a cigarette was caught on video stealing several crosses from the front porch of a family's home in Texas.

Cleburne police say they arrested Silva Carroll,43, and her daughter Iris, 26. after security video caught a woman taking the crosses.

During the theft, the woman looks straight up toward the camera at least twice, so the video captures a very clear view of her face.

On the video, she calmly removed one cross after another from the wall and then, also stole a pair of shoes belonging to the couple’s young son. She left behind another pair of small children's shoes.

The homeowners say the crosses hold sentimental value and would like them to be returned.

Police say the two are being looked at in more than a dozen theft cases.
