Deputies: Woman Tries To Sell GPS To Trucker She Stole It From

DUNCAN, S.C. -

Spartanburg Sheriff's Deputies were called to the TA Truck Stop in Duncan in reference to a stolen GPS Saturday.

When deputies arrived, they were met by a truck driver who claims a woman was trying to sell him a GPS that she stole from his truck.

According to reports, the truck driver said he went into the Pilot gas station across the street from the TA Truck Stop. When he got back to his truck, he noticed his cell phone and GPS were missing. He told deputies he was informed by a person in the Pilot that a woman in a hot pink shirt had entered his truck.

The driver went across the street to the TA Truck Stop and located the woman in the hot pink shirt, who called herself Tamera. He asked her about the cell phone and GPS she had in her hands and she told him she would sell the GPS to him for $75.00.

The trucker driver then called 911 and stalled the woman until deputies arrived. When deputies arrived, the woman claimed the cell phone was hers and she was trying to sell the GPS. The driver told deputies that he had the clerk from the truck stop call his cell number, to which the phone in the woman's hand rang.

Deputies placed the woman into custody and gave the cell phone and GPS back to the truck driver.

Deputies were notified that Tamera had been told to stay away from the truck stop by another deputy in the past.

Tamera Jo Bryant was arrested and faces charges of Petit Larceny, Car-breaking, and Trespassing After Warning.  She is being held in the Spartanburg County Detention Center.
