BRADENTON, FL (WFLA) -

Tampa Bay's most-beloved manatee becomes more adorable with each passing year. As Snooty approaches his 66th birthday, he's showing a few signs of aging. His skin has turned lighter grey and he has a little extra waddle under his chin.

Snooty was born on July 21, 1948 in Miami and now lives at the South Florida Museum in Bradenton. He was the first manatee born in captivity. Snooty sets records every day for how long we know manatees can live, according to the museum.

66 years is a long time and the South Florida Museum wants to honor him in a big way. Snooty will celebrate his 66th birthday on Saturday, July 19 and you're invited to his party.

Snooty's birthday party will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 19. Admission to the party is free. The bash will be held outside in the Spanish Plaza at the South Florida Museum’s North parking lot by the Manatee River.

Free treats, cookies and drinks will be available for children while supplies last.

At noon, Snooty will be presented with his fruit and veggies birthday cake. Guests in the aquarium and the Spanish Plaza Courtyard will also sing "Happy Birthday" to Snooty.

Birthday Bash visitors can participate in fun games and activities, learn about environmental preservation, interact with wildlife and arts organizations from all over the area.

Mote Marine Laboratory will be on hand with the Mote Mobile Exhibit, as will Mosaic with the Mosaic Express educational experience and a fun Fossil Dig pit.

Busch Gardens, the Pittsburgh Pirates and Bradenton Marauders, Bishop Animal Shelter, Sea to Shore Alliance, Sarasota Bay Estuary Program, Manatee County Natural Resources Department, a and the Florida Maritime Museum also plan to attend.

Suncoast Food Trucks will offer several yummy food options, as will the A-OK Hot Dog Wagon, along with free cupcakes and treats from Flowers Bakery, free cookies, and free apple juice from Tropicana while supplies last. Free samples will also be offered by Blue Bell ice cream.

Annual Birthday Card Contest award winners will also be announced. First, second, and third place awards will be given in multiple age categories.

There will also be a special “Snooty Photo Booth” set up from 10 am – 2 pm where guests can take pictures with a giant “Snooty” poster or have us take your picture and tag yourself later on Facebook.

Aquarium presentations will run continuously from 10 am – 2 pm with paid Museum admission.

General Admission to the Museum's inside galleries, Aquarium, and Planetarium will be reduced on Saturday, July 19 to $9 for adults, $8 for seniors (65 and up), and $7 for children ages 4-12 (children under 4 and Museum Members are always free).

Be sure to check out Snooty's 66th Birthday Bash Page at SouthFloridaMuseum.org for more details on Snooty's birthday party or call (941) 746-4131.
