Mugshots: 8 arrested as Operation Pill Crusher continues

BEAUFORT, N.C. - Eight more people have been arrested as “Operation Pill Crusher” continues. 

In May, Sheriff Asa Buck and District Attorney Scott Thomas announced the first round of arrests in the undercover drug operation called “Operation Pill Crusher.” Since that announcement, deputies have rounded up nearly 100 people in Phase II, Phase III, Phase IV, Phase V and Phase VI, and Phase VII of the operation. 

The operation is an effort to target criminal suspects who have been engaged in the illegal sales and diversion of prescription medication and other illegal drugs in Carteret County. 

Those charged in the latest phase of “Operation Pill Crusher” include:

• 2 counts – Possession with intent to manufacture, sell, & deliver marijuana

• 1 count – Simple possession of Schedule II controlled substances
