Ayla Ferrone

Ayla Ferrone joined 7 News in September of 2019 as the team’s Greenville reporter.

Ayla comes to South Carolina from Albany, New York, where she worked as a reporter for WTEN.

Before coming to The Upstate, Ayla covered stories of national interest including investigating alleged NXIVM cult leader Keith Raniere, the tragic Schoharie limousine crash, and several high-profile cases of corruption within New York State politics. On a local level, Ayla’s reporting was instrumental in shedding light on the fight of more than a thousand former hospital workers who had their pensions taken away.

Ayla was born in Syracuse, New York and has also worked in newsrooms in Binghamton, New York and Monroe, Louisiana. She graduated from Ithaca College with a degree in journalism and a minor in politics.

When she’s not digging into stories, Ayla enjoys running, cooking, and spending time with her dog, Gatsby.

Ayla would love to hear from you, whether it’s a story tip or just to say hi! Email her at aferrone@wspa.com, follow her on Twitter at @AylaFerrone, on Facebook at Ayla Ferrone News, and on Instagram at @aylaferrone.
