Christy freelanced in Washington, D.C. and Texas at WJLA-TV and KTVT, the CBS affiliate in Fort Worth, before joining WSPA-TV as the Chief Meteorologist.  Christy is a member of the American Meteorological Society and is a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist.

She is a 6 time winner of the South Carolina Broadcasters Association Weathercaster of the Year and 3 time winner of SCBA’s Personality of the Year for 2015, 2016 and 2017.  Besides peer recognition, Christy has also won Spartanburg’s “Best of the Best” award which is won by popular vote.
