Nickelle Smith

Nickelle moved to the Upstate after starting her career in Augusta-Aiken as a weekend anchor/reporter for WAGT NBC 26, and reporter for WJBF News Channel 6.

Her time in the CSRA was spent covering a wide variety of stories, most recently chronicling the case of a missing priest from Jacksonville found murdered in Burke County.

Nickelle is also passionate about covering stories surrounding education, having followed the plight of failing schools at risk of being taken over by the state of Georgia.

Nickelle was born and raised in Jamaica before moving to Florida at 10 years old and living in Orlando.

Nickelle is a graduate of the University of Florida where she earned a degree in broadcast news. While attending school in Gainesville, she reported for NBC/CBS affiliate GTN News.

Additionally, she worked in the WUFT newsroom on both television and radio platforms. Nickelle also spent time in the big apple as a summer intern for CBS News in New York.

During her spare time outside the newsroom, Nickelle enjoys relaxing outdoors and spending time with family or friends.

If you have any story ideas or would like to just say hello, you can reach out to Nickelle on Twitter, Facebook, or e-mail her.
