Stefany Bornman joined 7 News in April of 2018 as the team’s bilingual multimedia journalist.
Stefany moved to the Upstate from Augusta, Georgia, where she worked as the Aiken County Bureau reporter for WJBF-TV.
Before moving to the Palmetto State, Stefany covered many national stories including a federal investigation into the closed Irish Traveler community in North Augusta, the sentencing of former South Carolina Representative Chris Corley on first-degree Domestic Violence charges and The Masters Tournament. Stefany dominated coverage of an EF-2 tornado that touched down in Johnston, South Carolina, in 2017, earning her an AP Award nomination for Small Market: Best Spot News Reporting.
Stefany was born in Panama City, Panama, before her family moved to San Juan, Puerto Rico, but now she calls Spartanburg, South Carolina home.
She’s a proud graduate of Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Georgia. She goes back to South Georgia often to host a workshop, “MMJ For a Day,” for journalism students in the Department of Communications Arts at GS.
When she’s not out chasing stories, Stefany enjoys spending time with her friends and family, binge watching her favorite shows and traveling the world.
