With just a few days until the official start of summer, 7 News took a moment to spotlight some of the fun GreenvilleRec is providing for families these next few months.
Whether it’s swimming lessons, park visits or just spending time outdoors GreenvilleRec organizers said they have ways to facilitate these activities.
Organizers said they have been training and hiring lifeguards and swim instructors to teach your kids.
There are also summer community programs, swim team events with Team Greenville, activities around the Greenville Health System Swamp Rabbit Trail Network, summer camps, sports and more.
This week, we highlight Beth Scheimann, a champion swimmer who spent some of her childhood in Greenville, swam competitively at Furman University and has set national records as an adult.
Beth said she finds the most rewarding swims are the ones she takes with the kids at Discovery Island.
