Woman killed in stabbing on Crescent St in Easley ID’d by coroner

EASLEY, S.C. (WSPA) – A man has been charged with murder in the deadly stabbing of a woman in Easley.

According to Easley Police Chief Tim Tollison, officers responded to Crescent Street at about 12:09 p.m. Sunday in reference to an assault.

When they arrived on-scene, officers saw a woman who had an apparent stab wound.

Police said officers rendered first aid until Pickens County EMS and Easley Fire Department arrived.

An investigation revealed that the woman and a man at the home got into an altercation with each other and the woman was stabbed with a knife, police said.

The victim later died at the scene.

On Monday, Pickens County Coroner’s Office officials identified the woman as Paula Rae Ogrodoski, 58, of Easley.

According to the coroner’s office news release, an autopsy was performed Monday morning .

The coroner said Ogrodoski reportedly got into an argument with an acquaintance — later identified as Gary Rowland Knight, 66, and was stabbed in the chest.

Knight arrested and charged with murder.

No other suspects are currently being sought.
