BLACKSBURG, SC (WSPA) – A Blacksburg woman has died following a crash on Highway 5 in Cherokee County.
According to the Cherokee County Coroner, 69-year-old Sheila Diane Dagnall died at the scene when her car struck a pickup truck head-on around 2:30pm.
“There was no indication at the scene that Mrs. Dagnall applied her brakes or that she tried to avoid the collision indicating there could have been something medically going on prior to the incident,” Coroner Dennis Fowler said.
The 17-year-old driver of the truck was flown to Spartanburg Medical Center for her injuries.
An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday to assist in the investigation.
