1 dead, troopers searching for hit-and-run driver in Greenville Co.

GREENVILLE CO., SC (WSPA) – Troopers are looking for a hit-and-run driver after a deadly crash in northern Greenville County.

The crash happened Sunday night on Highway 25 near McKinney Road just north of Travelers Rest.

A moped was rear ended by what’s believed to be an older model pickup truck, according to the S.C. Highway Patrol.

The driver of the moped was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene.

Kevin Wesley Brooks, 49, of Travelers Rest is identified as the victim by the Greenville County Coroner’s Office.

The coroner’s office said Brooks was hit by multiple vehicles shortly after 9 p.m. Sunday.

He died at the scene of the crash from his injuries. 

Highway Patrol’s Multi-disciplinary Accident Investigation Team is investigating the wreck.
