1 displaced by Gaffney house fire, no one hurt

GAFFNEY, S.C. (WSPA) — Firefighters say two people got out of a Gaffney house that caught fire.

Gaffney Fire Department responded around 4 a.m. Monday to the blaze at 209 Pacolet Highway.

Fire Chief Jamie Caggiano said two people were at the house when a fire started in the living room. Both people got out of the house and no one was hurt, Chief Caggiano said.

Firefighters had the fire under control within 15 minutes.

About 25 percent of the house was severely damaged in the fire that displaced one person, according to Chief Caggiano.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
