ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – One person has been charged following a shooting that happened on Tuesday morning in Anderson County.
According to the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to Fire Tower Road in Piedmont in reference to a person shot.
Deputies said the victim was taken to the hospital and is stable.
The sheriff’s office said that the shooting appeared to be domestic-related. The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office charged John Stephen Boyd, with domestic violence on Wednesday.
Leading up to the arrest, investigators said Boyd was riding with a woman and
physically and verbally assaulted her inside the moving vehicle.
After Boyd threatened the victim, she acted in self-defense and shot Boyd.
Boyd was released from the hospital on Wednesday and was booked into the
Anderson County Detention Center.
