1 killed in crash on I-26E in Laurens Co.

LAURENS CO., SC (WSPA) – A Georgia man has died after a two-car crash on Interstate 26 in Laurens County.

Highway Patrol says two SUVs were traveling eastbound on I-26 when they collided around 2:15pm, causing one to overturn and throwing the driver from the vehicle.

That driver, 56-year-old James Spires of Hinesville, GA, died at the scene, according to the Laurens County coroner.

The other driver was not hurt.

The crash happened around mile marker 59.

Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
