A father is looking for answers after his 10-year-old son was attacked by 4 dogs and sent to the hospital.

Iva resident, Scott Waldrop, says his son Jordan was over at his friend’s house when the friend’s dogs began biting and scratching Jordan all over his body.

Waldrop says he’s concerned that no one has taken responsibility for the dogs’ behavior.

He says the dog’s owner told him after the attack that his animals weren’t up to date on their rabies vaccine.

Waldrop says even though it took 9 stitches to close the bite mark on his son’s neck, it could’ve been much worse.

“I can’t explain the complete emotion that I felt because it was anger, it was upset, it was hurt, you know all of it together. It’s something that I hope no one has to ever feel in their life.”

Anderson county animal control says this type of situation is handled by the department of health and environmental control.

DHEC says the dogs were placed on a 10-day quarantine per protocol.
