2 brothers face murder charges in man’s shooting death in Taylors


GREENVILLE COUNTY, SC (WSPA) – Greenville County Sheriff’s Office investigator said two brothers where arrested for the shooting death of a man at Creekside Apartments on Sunday.

According to a sheriff’s office news release, investigators arrested Kendrick Dunlap, 44, and Gary Orlando Dunlap, 38, for their connection to the murder of Kevin Lemanuel King, 44, of Taylors.

We reported earlier that deputies were called to the Creekside Apartments on Brook Glenn Road around 3:25pm for a report of a gunshot victim.

When they arrived on scene, they found King dead inside an apartment. The Greenville County Coroner’s Office said King was shot by one or more people at his apartment. His death has been ruled a homicide.

An investigation revealed that the Dunlap brothers went to King’s apartment to confront him about money he owed them.

According to the release, the brothers knocked on the door and were met by King, and King was later shot to death.

Both Kendrick and Gary Dunlap were arrested and charged with murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and criminal conspiracy.

They were taken to the Greenville County Detention Center.

Gary Dunlap was denied bond during a hearing Monday morning. We’re still waiting to hear back about when Kendrick Dunlap will be arraigned.
