2 dead, 1 hurt in crash on Lockhart Hwy. in Union Co.

UNION CO., SC (WSPA) – Two people have died and another is in the hospital after a crash on Lockhart Highway in Union County, Saturday afternoon.

The crash happened near 49 Loop around 5:30 p.m., according to troopers.

HIghway Patrol said the driver of a Toyota van was driving southbound on Lockhart Highway when they crossed into the northbound lanes and crashed into a Honda driving in the other direction.

The drivers of both vehicles died at the scene, troopers said.

The passenger in the Honda, a juvenile, was taken to Greenville Memorial Hospital by helicopter.

Neither the driver nor the passenger in the Honda was wearing a seatbelt, according to SCHP.

The Union County Coroner’s Office identified the drivers as Natalie Annette Williford, 22, of Union, and Brandon Keith Rogers, 38, of Union.

Autopsies have been scheduled for Tuesday.
