2 dead after gunshots fired inside Greer townhome


GREER, SC (WSPA) – Two people are dead after gunshots were reportedly fired inside a townhome.

Greer police responded to Spring Crossing Circle around 5:15 a.m. Wednesday morning.

The Emergency Response Team and Crisis Negotiation Team were able to safely remove two people from the townhome.

The crisis team tried to contact the people inside, but after two hours of trying to make contact, the ERT team entered the home and found two people dead.

The coroner’s office report said Adam Ratje, 32, of Greer, and Angela Giacometti, 42, of Greer, each had a wound to the head.

The cause and manner of death are pending an autopsy.

Police said there is no danger to the public.

On Thursday, their deaths were ruled a murder-suicide.

The Greenville County Coroner’s Office said both died of gunshot wounds to the head. 

Giacometti’s manner of death was ruled homicide, while Ratje’s manner of death was suicide, according to the coroner’s office.
