2 dead after home collapses in NC


BOONE, NC (WSPA) – Two people are dead after a Boone home collapsed Wednesday. 

According to the Boone Police Department, two people were inside the building at the time of the collapse and crews arrived to search the wreckage of the house.

An Urban Search and Rescue team from Asheville was called to assist the Boone Fire Department.

The house is located on Pine Ridge Road in the Heavenly Mountain subdivision.

CBS affiliate WBTV reports that both people inside were found dead.

Boone police say the collapse is weather related.

Several other fire departments in Watauga County were called to assist.
