2 die in crash on US-178 in Abbeville Co.

ABBEVILLE COUNTY, SC (WSPA) – South Carolina Highway Patrol officials said two people died in a crash on US-178 near Rock Springs Church Road in Abbeville County Friday evening.

According Cpl. Bill Ryhne, a 1995 Buick LaSabre was traveling east on US-178 when the car ran off the right side of the road and hit a culvert.

The two people inside the vehicle were trapped inside the car and were later taken to area hospitals for treatment.

The driver of the vehicle was taken to AnMed in Anderson where they later passed away.

The passenger was taken to Self Regional in Greenwood where they later passed away.

Those victims have been identified as Stanley C. Fuller, 68 and Joyce F. Fuller, according to the Abbeville County Coroner’s Office.

Ryhne said it is unknown at this time if either individual was wearing a seat belt.

The two victims were married and Stanley Fuller was the pastor for Winona Baptist Church in Donalds, S.C., reports the coroner’s office.
