2 killed in crash on SC-34 near Marshall Circle in Greenwood Co.

GREENWOOD COUNTY, SC (WSPA) – South Carolina Highway Patrol confirmed they are investigating a deadly crash on SC-34.

The crash happened in the 1100 block of SC-34 near Marshall Circle, according to a report from the coroner’s office.

Greenwood Co. Coroner Sonny Cox says two people were killed.

They were identified as:

– Valerie Annette Davis, 55, of Panther Drive in Ninety Six.

– Wesley Hunter Clinkscales, 31, of Butler Circle in Ninety Six

The coroner’s report said Clinkscales was in the process of passing a vehicle when he hit Davis’ vehicle head on.

They were both pronounced dead at the scene at 1:52 p.m.

The cause of death is listed as blunt force trauma and the manner is accidental, according to the report.
