2 men face murder charges following Due West Hwy shooting in Anderson Co.

Two men have been arrested in relation to the shooting death of a man at a home on Due West Highway in Anderson County. 

According to a sheriff’s office’s Facebook post, deputies were searching for Michail Blake Pierce, 19, of Starr, Friday afternoon before he was located and taken into custody Friday evening.

Anderson County Sheriff’s Office PIO Sgt. JT Foster said Alex Mitchell Moore, 23, of Central, was arrested earlier Friday in relation to the shooting death.

Pierce and Moore are both facing murder charges.

We reported on Feb. 7 that deputies responded to a shooting at about 3:21 a.m. on Due West Highway near Highway 28 South.

Upon arrival, deputies found Michael T. McLarey, 27, of Anderson, had been shot at least one time. He was taken to an area hospital, where he died on Feb. 8.
