SPARTANBURG, SC (WSPA) – Spartanburg Police Department officials said two men were injured in a shooting at an apartment complex on Norris Street in Spartanburg on Monday afternoon.
According to a police department news release, officers responded to the 300 block of Norris Street at Norris Ridge Apartments around 4 p.m. in regards to a shooting.
Once on-scene, officers learned that two men had been shot, and they were then taken to Spartanburg Regional Hospital for treatment in privately owned vehicles before EMS or police could arrive on-scene.
According to the release, witnesses said the incident happened in front of building 108 at the apartment complex.
Witnesses told police that a group of males were arguing before shots were fired.
Spartanburg Police said one victim is 18 years old and the other victim is 21 years old. Their names have not yet been released.
One of the victims was reportedly shot in the upper torso and the other victim was shot in the upper left thigh.
Police said both men are still being treated at the hospital and they are both in stable condition.
According to the release, police are continuing to gather information in regards to this incident. Police said they do not believe this shooting to be a random act of violence, and said there is no danger to the public.
