ANDERSON COUNTY, SC (WSPA) – South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control officials confirmed a second case of mumps at Westside High School in Anderson County.

DHEC said they are currently assisting school officials to monitor and prevent any further spreading.

A letter was sent home to parents of students who attend the high school to make them aware of the case of mumps.

DHEC did not say if it was a student or a teacher with the confirmed case of the mumps.

The first case of mumps at Westside High was reported last month. DHEC was investigating a report of mumps in an individual at the high school.
