Three people were arrested after Spartanburg County Deputies say they shot at a car with two people inside early Friday morning.

20-year-old DeAndre Foster, 19-year-old Douglas Jones, and 20-year-old Tysean Edmondson were arrested and each was charged with attempted murder in the incident. Jones was also charged with failure to stop for blue lights, reckless driving, and driving without insurance.

According to the incident report, a 21-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman were driving down Valley Falls Road when they heard several gunshots and their back window was shot out. The woman did suffer a cut to the side of her head during the incident.

The report says the victim’s father had allowed two girls to move in with them but had recently kicked them out after finding out that one was possibly dating a gang member. One of those two girls sent the victim a text message saying “Just so you know we’re after you,” according to the report.

A deputy heard the gunfire and saw a car speeding from the scene and unsuccessfully tried to stop the car, a 2003 Nissan Altima. Deputies chased the car through parts of Spartanburg County, during which deputies say a gun was thrown from the car.

The chase ended at the Victoria Gardens Apartment Complex when the car stopped and one passenger ran from the scene while two others were arrested at the car. The third suspect was captured after a short foot chase behind the Woodward Funeral home near the corner of Pearl Street and Howard Street.

An AR-15 rifle was recovered on North Campus Boulevard by deputies and a .40 caliber extended magazine, a loaded AR-15 magazine, and a loaded silver magazine were recovered from the car.

One deputy injured his ankle during the foot chase.
