ANDERSON CO., SC (WSPA) – One man is dead and his brother is hurt after being stabbed at a home on Old Denver Road in Anderson County.
Sheriff’s deputies say an elderly woman is also hurt after being struck in the head during the incident.
They say 30-year-old Michael Yon died after being stabbed once in the chest at his home.
Deputies were called to the scene just before 8 p.m. Friday.
Anderson County Sheriff’s Office has charged Virgil Wayne Owens, 53, of Anderson with murder in the stabbing.
A K-9 tracking unit was brought out to search the area and deputies say Owens was found at a home on Greentree Road around 10:30 p.m.
Deputies believe the victims knew the attacker and that it was an isolated incident.
Yon was taken to AnMed but died upon arrival, deputies say.
Yon’s brother and the 70-year-old woman were both in stable condition at the hospital.
Along with Owens, deputies made two more arrests in connection to the stabbing. Heather Louise Alewine, 28, and Eric Tyler Simpson, 27, are both charged with multiple crimes. Deputies say Alewine and Simpson helped Owens conceal evidence and harbored him.
