SPARTANBURG, SC (WSPA) – Three people are in custody after a deadly home invasion shooting on Marlboro Road in Spartanburg, early Saturday morning.

Police have arrested Rayshon Lamar Smith, Alicia Danielle Pilgrim, and Efrain Rivera. All will be charged with Murder, first degree Burglary, two counts of Kidnapping, and Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime.

Spartanburg Police say they were called to the scene around 5:00am for a reported home invasion. According to the report, when officers arrived at the scene, they were flagged down by two people in the front yard, one of whom told them, “They shot my friend!”

Inside the house, officers found a man on the floor. The coroner says 28-year-old Francisco Javier Villar was taken to Spartanburg Medical Center where he later died.

There were also officers in the area at a QuikTrip store on West Main St. when they heard multiple gunshots around 4:50 a.m.

A police report says officers found a small pistol under the victim’s head.

Officers say they were called to the hospital after one of the suspects, Rayshawn Smith, was shot in the ear during the incident at the home on Marlboro Road.

All three suspects were in bond court Sunday morning but the judge was unable to set bond. They will go before a Circuit Court judge to receive their bond later in the week.

Police say the investigation is still ongoing and more charges may be pending.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 888-CRIME-SC or 864-573-0000.
