We reported earlier that deputies responded Monday night to a drive-by shooting in the 1000 block of Thomas Road in Spartanburg.
Deputies found Kirk inside the home and said he had been hit by one of the rounds.
Kirk was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two females were also inside the home at the time of the shooting. Neither were hurt in the shooting.
Deputies say the females gave investigators information that the shooting may have been related to a dispute over a drug transaction.
The women also provided deputies with a nickname of a possible suspect later identified as Bobby Hank Wright.
Wright denied involvement in the shooting.
A judge denied Wright bond during a hearing on Wednesday.
