UNION, SC (WSPA) – Four teens are accused of vandalizing a church that included “Hail Satan” being carved into the porch, according to Union Co. Sheriff David Taylor.

It happened at the Welcome Baptist Church in the Monarch area on July 9.

The Family Life Center had damage to two column posts and floors on the porch.

There was damage to vinyl siding pieces and a crawl space vent door.

The water hose was also turned on to waste about $195 worth of water.

Investigators signed warrants on Thomas James LaGrange Murphy, 18, of Osborne St. in Union.

Murphy and 3 juveniles have been charged with Malicious / Malicious injury to a place of worship.

Two of the juveniles are from Spartanburg and the third is from Union.

β€œThese types of cases are not easy to solve but Investigator Vinson did an excellent job in solving this case.” Taylor said.
