4th child dies after crash in Greenville Co., driver charged

GREENVILLE CO., SC (WSPA) – The Greenville County coroner says a fourth child has died after a crash in Taylors. 

According to the coroner, 2-year-old Ar’mani Jamison died at Greenville Memorial Hospital around 5:20 p.m. Sunday.

The crash happened shortly before 12:30 a.m. Friday on Mountain Creek Road near Mountain Creek Baptist Church.

Troopers say there were five people in the van, including four children and the driver, when it ran off the right side of the road and hit several trees.

Three children died at the scene of the crash. The victims were identified as 4-year-old Arnez Yaron Jamison Jr., 6-year-old Robbiana Evans, and 8-year-old Jamire Halley. ​​​​​​Investigators don’t know if the three children were wearing seatbelts.

The driver, identified as 27-year-old Arnez Yaron Jamison, was taken to the hospital and is still being treated there as of Monday afternoon.

South Carolina Highway Patrol said Monday afternoon that Jamison was charged with four counts of felony DUI resulting in death, driving under suspension-2nd offense, child endangerment, operating an uninsured vehicle.

Highway Patrol said the detention center took Jamison into custody at Greenville Memorial Hospital on Saturday. Jamison remains in custody at the hospital at this time.
