5 arrested in armed robberies in Henderson & Transylvania Co.

Through a combined effort of the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office, Hendersonville Police, the ATF and the Transylvania County Sheriff’s office, five arrests were made in a recent string of armed robberies.

Hendersonville Police say three of the robberies happened on Sunday, October 16th.

One happened at the El Trebol Tienda Mexicana on Spartanburg Highway in East Flat Rock, the Subway on Westside Village Road in Hendersonville and the Tri-Angle Stop in Penrose in Transylvania County.

They say a fourth robbery happened on Monday, October 17th at the Dana Road branch of the BB&T in Hendersonville.

Hendersonville Police say a clerk from Goodwill reported she was robbed of the nightly deposit at the bank.

Detectives were able to view surveillance video of the robbery and discovered all four robberies were related and identified all those involved.

Detectives arrested 36 year old Kevin Amaury Rodriguez of East Flat Rock on Friday for two counts of conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.  He is currently in the Henderson County Jail under a $120,000 secured bond.

Also arrested Friday was Samantha Rodriguez of East Flat Rock. She faces one count of conspiracy to commit felony larceny and one count of larceny by employee.

Henderson County deputies say Kevin and Samantha Rodriguez are husband and wife and are connected to the BB&T robbery on October 17th.

18 year old Miles J. Dunbar of Fletcher was arrested Friday. He faces three counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, three counts of conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon, three counts of second degree kidnapping, one count of larceny from a person, and one count of felony larceny.  He is currently in the Henderson County Jail under a $200,000 secured bond.

Hendersonville Police say 25 year old Demarkus Lovon Dunbar of Fletcher, NC was arrested Saturday night around 7:30 pm for three counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, three counts of conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon, three counts of second degree kidnapping, one count of larceny from a person and one county of felony larceny.

Police also tell 7 News 41 year old Luis Enrique Laguna of Hendersonville was arrested around 10:15 pm Saturday night and is charged with two counts of conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon and two counts aiding and abetting robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Detectives say Laguna is in the Henderson County Detention Center under a $220,000 bond.
