CAMPOBELLO, SC (WSPA) – Spartanburg School District One says around 50 students will be prevented from going to school until they are vaccinated for chickenpox.

They say the students will be out for 21 days at Campobello-Gramling Elementary School after an outbreak of chickenpox.

The outbreak was reported on Wednesday.

Students can return to school immediately after receiving the vaccination.

All students are required to get the vaccination, unless they have an exemption, according to the school district.

Chickenpox is a contagious virus that causes a rash, fatigue and fever.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends two doses of chickenpox vaccine.
