6 McDowell Co. High students brought pot to school say deputies

McDOWELL, CO., NC (WSPA) – Six McDowell High School students have been charged with marijuana-related offenses in three separate incidents over the past two weeks, according to deputies.

The first incident happened on Wednesday, Oct. 26, when a 17-year-old boy traded a 16-year-old boy 1.7 grams of marijuana for cigarettes at school, according to report.

Both teens with possession of marijuana.

The second incident happened on Tuesday, Nov. 1. when a 16-year-old boy brought marijuana to school to sell to a 17-year-old boy.

The two were caught going into the woods surrounding McDowell High, and Cook and school administrators found the 9.7 grams of marijuana outside on campus.

The 16-year-old was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana and the 17-year-old with conspiracy to sell and deliver marijuana.

The third incident happened on Wednesday, Nov. 2, when a 16-year-old boy traded .20 gram of marijuana for a can of dip belonging to a 17-year-old boy.

Cook charged both teens with possession of marijuana.
